Fall is probably my favorite season. I love that there is so much versatility with fall fashion. Some of my most coveted looks are oversized sweaters mixed with skinny jeans and biker boots. Another favorite look, black sheer tights, a cute cocktail dress, ankle booties and a faux fur jacket. The sky’s the limit when it comes to San Diego style in the fall.
Today actually got a little chilly. There were blue skies but a cold front coming in. This oversized dolman sweater had me at hello. I’m so absolutely in love with this style. It’s one of those you can’t go wrong, throw it on and go, look cute without trying… You get my drift. I always pay attention to detail when it comes to finding the perfect sweater. The cable knit and cowl neck add a rich look without an over the top price tag. I think the heather grey color is a great alternative to the traditional safe black. Since it has been too hot for leather I wore my wax coated denim and grabbed my forever21 cross body bag. I’m an advocate for mixing your highs and lows so my finishing touch was my lace Louboutin booties. These shoes have been an all-time fave! The glitter cheetah mixed with the subtle lace and patent leather left my look polished and pretty.
I heard Madison Gallery in La Jolla was holding a pop art exhibit by Mauro Perucchetti. This genius artist has created a mirror of modern day materialistic desires. The flawless swarovski crystal, botoxed beauty caught my eye and my interest. Our society is so driven by perfectionism and materialism I thought this would be the perfect afternoon escape from the store. I mean, who doesn’t want to see pretty sparkly things? This artist has really tapped into pop culture and the demands society has on us. I know I am obsessed with shoes and probably have wayyy too many.. if thats even possible. But I did stop to think, is this obsession driven by our social demands to always look fab and fresh? Or is this just a characteristic trait I learned from my fashionista, shoe obsessed mom? Im going with its just genetic. ;) So anyways, this exhibit not only sparkled from wall to wall but obviously told a story. A really svelte story! I couldn’t help but admire the colors, the vibrant details and sharp hues.
Coincidentally enough, my look fit right in. I love this ombre teal equipment blouse. The color way was done to perfection and the snake print is such a classic look for this over the top tee. My current denim obsession are these photo ready J brand distressed jeans. I love the ripped knees and faded whiskering. What’s photo ready? Just what it says… the skinniest of skinny that really make you look skinnier!! TA-DAHHH! Love em! Obviously got a little carried away with the teal, but I had the perfect shoe and went for matchy matchy. These cute Zara pumps are practical and pretty. I walked around all day without any discomfort. GO ME!! My last accessory was this adorable box clutch by BCBG Max Azria. Daytime chic transitioned perfectly to happy hour haute with my babe.
If you are in La Jolla, check out the exhibit. Im not sure how much longer it’s going to be around for, but definitely worth taking a peek. For now, I hope you enjoy some of my favorite pieces.
Gawd I love this beautiful city I live in!!! San Diego, america’s finest! I don’t make it downtown as much as I’d like… (I tend to stay in my little La Jolla bubble). But when I do head to the Gaslamp, I always make an extra effort to wear something cool, interesting and different. I picked this Donna Mizani romper because I didn’t know if dinner at BANG BANG would end with dancing at BANG BANG. LOL oh, BTW, have you guys tried this new San Diego hot spot???? You’ve got to check it out. Pretty AMAZE! Now, this little romper has been a staple in my wardrobe. LA designer Donna Mizani just gets it. The originator of the infamous cut-out dress has really evolved into a beautiful, sexy, easy to wear line. I tried this romper on and knew it needed to be MINE. The long billow sleeves can be worn at wrist length or pulled up to a 3/4. The high-cut runner short adds sex appeal without over doing it. Every girl should own this. It’s that no-brainer, feel good, look good piece. I added this cool BCBG floral jacket to make the look more dinner appropriate. I’m still OBSESSED with my Givenchy bag, and the pops of red flowers in the jacket made for a more fluid look. I grabbed my comfy Fendi booties which added some edginess! The last touch, my Lanvin inspired necklace I scored in NYC. Don’t worry, I contacted the manufacturer so you guys can buy one too! Oh, and the best part, they’re only $60 which beats the heck out of the $1000 Lanvin price tag! YIKES! I’ll be posting a “where to buy” link and one lucky reader will win one in next month’s giveaway!!! Yes, ma’am I said GIVEAWAY!! ;)

Thank you fashion for repeating yourself every 15 years! (it’s no longer every 20 because we miss certain trends too much to wait another 5 years!) I remember walking into class the first day of freshman year of High School (that makes me feel old) wearing a matching blue camo top with my BFF. I will never forget that outfit as I have been patiently waiting for it’s return. FINALLY, camo is back and better than ever! Whether you are rocking a pair of cargos, a hip blouse or even a pair of cute espadrilles, one things for sure-this print is oh so cool!! From time to time I take my work look to the extreme. I paired this matte Equipment camo blouse with BCBG’s genius chakra skirt. I had happy hour with the girls so I needed a flirty day to night look. I grabbed my Zara lace up pumps which are becoming my favorite go-to shoes and a cute handbag for a fun and flirty look. Cheers Babes!
