Springtime Casual in Equipment Floral Bomber Jacket

Spring time has FINALLY arrived.  Ahhhhh and I’m so OBSESSED!!!  Shower me in NEON please!!!  There’s definitely some Do’s and Don’ts when it comes to rocking this ultra vibrant hue.

  • DO sport more than one shade of neon, keep it tasteful babes.  Choose one shade of neon in an over the top statement jacket and accent with that color.  I pulled a neon yellow hue in the print of my Equipment floral bomber jacket and made my shoes and handbag do all the talking.
  • DO tone down your eye candy outfit with neutral undertones.  White and neon is HUGE right now.  It’s crisp, clean and cool.
  • DO Try a light blue denim with your bright hues.  It’s an amazing color to compliment neon as opposed to something safe like white.
  • DO opt for neon leather if you are in search of the perfect “summer” bag.  You don’t have to worry about staining a durable perforated neon bag as opposed to any and all white leather bags.  You will thank me after you get the first stain on your bright white baby.
  • DON’T think Neon is a one-season wonder, so buy with an ‘all year round ‘ mentality.
  • Lastly, for the love of the fashion gawds, PLEASE DON’T wear neon with black.  It’s a big time fashion NO, NO!!

Royal Blush

blush blouse with jbrand rozI had a lunch date with girlfriends and just had “One of those days”.  With NOTHING to wear, I somehow came up with this by total accident! But seriously, I’m so happy I did!!! I HAD to wear these Larkspur J brand jeans, like I could hear them screaming in my closet “WEAR MEEEEEE”. The patch detail and ornate stitching was so different from any of my other blue jeans.  Since I wasn’t feeling black or white, I pulled this a-line blush colored top.  My hair today was a complete disaster.  I mean, I need my roots done worse than bad!! (I stole that line from my hottie tottie friend Selma Alameri, thanks babe!) Ok, the outfit… I always get sidetracked, maybe it’s a blonde thing.  Anywayyys,  I grabbed a merlot colored fedora to hide my hideous roots, picked up my Chanel reissue bag and needed 1 more element to bring this mismatched look together.  Low and behold I remembered the un-opened Zara box sitting in my room..  TA-Fricken DA! My multi colored pumps had not only EVERY color I was wearing, but the laces matched my bag perfectly!!  Love when that happens!!  Needless to say I was a happy camper feeling oh so stylish!

Side note ** Sometimes it’s the look you never planned to work, or the dress you thought was totally NOT YOU, that ends up being AHHHMAZING!  So, my advice… TRY NEW THINGS!  You may surprise yourself!

Fashion Graffiti

fashion graffitiI love street art and the look of urban graffiti. Like fashion, it’s so expressive. And this blazer screams “check me out!”   I’m all about adding a crazy blazer or detailed jacket to more muted pieces. It totally makes the outfit.  Since this jacket is more of a fall piece, it made for a great way to transition my spring pastels into fall. And FYI, this Parker blouse looks ahhhmazing with everything! It’s definitely a staple.

Under-dressed and Distressed

distressed shorts

I had to head to a last minute dinner meeting with a celeb client of mine for an upcoming project she’s working on.   Super excited btw!!  I had on my boyfriend shorts with a casual v neck tee and espadrilles.  Obviously couldn’t show up to a dinner meeting in my slouchy look but was limited on time.  I stuck with the boyfriend… The boyfriend short can be a tricky piece to pull off, but if done right it can make your look so unique and effortless. Since it’s meant to be SUPER over sized and slouchy, I normally pair it with a fitted top and detailed jacket.  In this case, I was feeling a little tom-boyish.  This symmetrical blouse added balance to these disoriented shorts. lol.  I really wanted to try something new yet still keep a feminine approach.  The ruffled stilettos and tasseled clutch created a styled outfit with edge and grace.  I love the contrast created by the bagginess of the distressed boyfriend short with the streamlined accessories.  And of course I added a pretty pink lip.
