To think I barely made it into this show! Phew! Here at Herve Leger runway show, there were a bunch of interesting details that caught my eye. As a side note, did you know BCBG’s Max & Lubov Azria acquired Herve almost 16 years ago!? Thank god for them as a lot of BCBG bandage dresses and skirts are very reflective of this ultra luxe brand. Anyyyways, just wanted to touch on a little Fashion FYI for those interested in the brain behind the brand. So, back on track… Herve Leger… When I think of spring, I immediately think of a pop of color, a dominant color, something to show us winter is over and summer is right around the corner. This collection was absolutely amazing! I loved the details they added to the already famous bandage dress however, the subdued color ways threw me off. Fortunately enough, the exposed peek-a-boo zippers up the front and around the bodice and the jacquard fringe accents made me fall in love all over again. It was nice to see that peplum and flurry skirts will be back and better than ever this spring.
This is the hub of fashion week standing ever so proud in the middle of Lincoln Center. The epicenter if you will where all amazing fashion is captured. How do you think “Street Style” came about?? Right hur. So while we are at home glued to our laptop drooling over Anna Dello Russos Tom Ford gold gladiators, there are incredible photographers sweating their tushies off to get “THE” perfect pic for all of us to enjoy.
I ran into my favorite blonde duo the Nubry girls who invited us to check out Katya Leonovich a Russian designer. This collection had a lot of colored leather, flowy dresses and water color prints. It was very different from the other designers I saw, which made her line very intriguing.
Here is another delicious find at Barneys NY. If you don’t know already, Im mildly OBSESSED with my Givenchy. This Lucrezia printed bag is artwork on your arm. I would rock the crap out of this in an all black look. Leather pants, oversized cashmere sweater, black floppy hat, motorcycle boots, round shades and a cherry red lip. Hello Gorgeous!
The Anna Sui Show was bohemian bliss! Although I’m not much of a bohemian girl, I really loved the way she incorporated fringe with soft prints. I also loved the crochet cardis and printed shorts. My favorite piece out of the collection was this paisley rust romper. The cut, fit and print was absolute perfection!
Behind the pawn shop sits a favorite restaurant of mine Beauty & Essex. The tasty and inexpensive tapas mixed with yummy craft cocktails got me ready for a night on the town. The loud music & club vibe really gets you going. Its a place filled with beautiful people dressed to the nines in a very dim lit setting. Theres even a champagne bar in the ladies lounge! A must try!
Big time sad face, this was the last day of New York Fashion Week before I hopped on a plane back to Sunny San Diego. Between the delicious eateries, tasty cocktails, beautiful people, jaw dropping fashion and inspiring shows, this trip to NYC is a must-have for the fashion obsessed. For the city that never sleeps, there’s something about this time of year that makes it shine brighter than before. I can’t wait to go back this February to get my NYFW fix.
